This checklist will help early childhood education and care (ECEC) providers apply for an Additional Child Care Subsidy (ACCS) child wellbeing determination.

Before you apply
- Confirmed referral requirements under the certificate process have been met.
- Applied early if ongoing support is needed beyond the certificate period or current determination.
Applying for a determination
- Confirmed the child continues to be in need of wellbeing support.
- Spoke with the family and recorded their consent.
- Obtained evidence from an appropriate organisation or professional that includes:
- the name of child and their parent or carer
- the name and contact details of the organisation or professional providing the evidence
- the title or position of the person providing the evidence
- the date the evidence was provided
- a written or electronic signature.
- Confirmed determination details are correct
- child’s name
- child’s CRN
- start and end date (starting after the certificate or last determination end date - to ensure there are no gaps in ACCS eligibility).
- Applied for determination in PEP or third-party software.
- Kept records to support audit and compliance requirements.
Evidence
Submitted evidence of:
- the child’s need for wellbeing support as provided by a third-party
- other formal arrangements (where the child is identified under state or territory law).
