Early childhood education and care (ECEC) providers can now apply for professional development subsidies to help their staff complete training and practicums.
A professional development subsidy will help cover one day of training for eligible staff.
A paid practicum subsidy will give staff paid leave while they undertake a practicum.
Providers must apply on behalf of staff.
The subsidies aim to:
- strengthen skills and professional experience
- improve retention of teachers and educators
- build capacity and skills in the early childhood workforce.
The subsidies complement the government’s broader ECEC reforms and workforce actions being undertaken across state and territory governments.
Applications for the 2025–26 subsidies will close on 19 September 2025.
