Representatives from government education sectors, teachers, principals, unions and other education experts came together at the Teacher Workforce Roundtable 2025 at the National Museum of Australia in Canberra in September.
The participants shared insights to help inform new national directions to support sustainable and high-quality teaching across Australia.
The themes discussed included:
- How to ensure accreditation settings and professional standards are strengthening the role of teachers
- How to support teacher and principal wellbeing and workplace safety
- How to enhance teacher workforce data for enhanced policy making for the teaching profession.
The roundtable and its outcomes will build on the work and success of the National Teacher Workforce Action Plan (NTWAP).
Outcomes of the roundtable will be provided to Education Ministers and will be used to inform ongoing discussions focussed on session topics.
