To apply for a Commonwealth Teaching Scholarship, you must be living in Australia.

What is your citizenship/residency status?
Are you:

To apply for a Commonwealth Teaching Scholarship, you must be:

  • an Australian citizen
  • a permanent resident
  • a holder of a permanent humanitarian visa, or
  • a New Zealand citizen.
Are you commencing or have commenced an Australian accredited teaching degree prior to 2025?

To apply for a Commonwealth Teaching Scholarship, you must be commencing an Australian accredited teaching degree.

Are you intending on commencing an accredited teaching degree in the first semester/study period of 2027?

To apply for a Commonwealth Teaching Scholarship, you must be starting your degree in the first semester or first study period of the year you apply for a scholarship. 

  • Round 1 – 2024 (closed)
  • Round 2 – 2025 (closed)
  • Round 3 – 2026 (closed)
  • Round 4 – 2027
  • Round 5 – 2028
Do you intend to study full-time or part-time?

To apply for a Commonwealth Teaching Scholarship, you must study full-time for the duration of your scholarship funding (determined by the length of your degree).

Based on your responses, you are NOT eligible to apply for a Commonwealth Teaching Scholarship. 

Based on your responses, you may be eligible to apply for a Commonwealth Teaching Scholarship in Round 4.
