The department has released a consultation paper on potential reforms to strengthen the Australian National University Act 1991.
The Department of Education is seeking views from students, staff, alumni, higher education stakeholders and the Canberra community on how the governance arrangements established by the Australian National University Act 1991 could be strengthened. It invites responses to the questions in the Consultation Paper via online form by 5:00pm, Tuesday 1 September 2026.
