This Policy Update reflects analysis of China's demographic trends and possible implications for Chinese international student demand for an overseas education. China's high school graduate population is estimated to peak at, or around 2032, when approximately 17 million students will take part in university entrance exams. Australia's reputation as a study destination of Chinese students remains strong, and this is likely to be sustained for at least the next seven or eight years.
