It's time to start preparing for the Education Funding System (EFS)

Starting now will ensure a smooth transition to the Education Funding System in time to view your January 2026 payment advice and complete the February 2026 address collection.

Not familiar with the EFS? View the EFS overview video for approved authorities.

Get ready for EFS

Here is what you need to do:

  • Don’t already have myID? You’ll need to set it up.
  • Already have myID? Check your identity strength is at least ‘Standard’ – although an identity strength of ‘Strong’ is recommended.
  • Have the principal authority link the organisations ABN in RAM and assign individual users to act on behalf of the organisation.
  • Individual users need to receive an invitation email from RAM and follow the steps to link their myID to the organisation.

Once each of these steps are complete, you’ll be ready to access the Education Funding System from November 2025.

Don’t wait until it’s time to submit next year’s address collection to get started.

Support materials

To assist you in setting up myID and RAM to access the Education Funding System, user guides are available.

myID and RAM are products provided by the Australian Taxation Office (ATO). Setting up myID and RAM is usually a straightforward process, however, sometimes additional challenges may be encountered.

This may include individuals having trouble finding the required identity documents for myID or no principal authority clearly identified against the ABN on the Australian Business Register when setting up RAM.

If you encounter these types of issues, you’ll need to contact the ATO to resolve them before you can access the Education Funding System.

We are here to help you as much as we can, however, technical issues relating to Digital ID, myID and/or RAM need to be directed to the relevant service support.

From Release 1 in November 2025 approved authorities will have access to the EFS

The main changes for approved authorities from November include:

  • a single online platform
  • an enhanced user experience and self-service functionality
  • stronger cyber security with the introduction of a Digital ID (myID) for sign in

Accessing the Education Funding System is straightforward, but it differs slightly from how approved authorities currently access SchoolsHUB.

Approved authorities will access the EFS via EducationHUB.gov.au and will sign in using a Digital ID.

The Education Funding System is more than just another new platform – it’s part of a whole-of-government shift towards enhanced online services.
