The Education Funding System (EFS) was released in November 2025, establishing the foundation of the system and onboarding a defined cohort of education providers (Schools approved authorities).

From November 2025 approved authorities are able to:
- access the EFS via EducationHUB and authenticate into the system using a Digital ID
- view their organisation and schools
- submit data collections, commencing with the February 2026 address collection
- view payments, commencing with the January 2026 recurrent funding payment (for government and non-government schools) and any relevant prescribed or special circumstances payments.
The EFS is being delivered progressively, with capabilities introduced in a sequenced and managed pathway through to December 2026.
Initially EFS delivery was expected to be delivered through a set number of releases; however the delivery model has since evolved to a more flexible, sequenced approach.
This refinement reflects a deliberate shift to prioritise system stability, business and stakeholder readiness and alignment with data collection and payment timeframes, rather than adherence to a fixed release construct.
