The Australian Government tasked the Australian Human Rights Commission to lead a landmark study into racism at Australian universities – Respect at Uni: Study into Antisemitism, Islamophobia, Racism and the Experience of First Nations People (Respect@Uni Study).
The Respect@Uni Final Report presented research findings on the prevalence, nature and impact of racism at Australian universities. These research findings were informed by a national online survey, focus groups with university students and staff, an audit of university policies and initiatives, and a literature review.
Centred on the lived experiences of university students, staff and academics, the Respect@Uni Final Report makes recommendations for making universities safer and more respectful for everyone.
