Students in Perth’s north-east now have greater access to tertiary study support with the opening of Ellenbrook Study Hub.
Ellenbrook Study Hub, funded under the Australian Government’s Suburban University Study Hubs (SUSH) program, provides dedicated study spaces with computers, printers and high-speed internet, as well as access to academic skills, administrative and wellbeing support.
The hub is open with staff support from 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday and is accessible to students daily from 6am to 10pm during unstaffed hours.
Bachelor of Technology in Electrical Engineering student, Weefah is thankful that the study hubs are creating opportunities for students like him to study close to home.
“The Ellenbrook Study Hub provides local students like me with a quiet and accessible space to focus on their studies without needing to travel far, which reduces stress, especially for those balancing work or family responsibilities,” Weefah said.
“When people see a supportive learning environment right in their community, it helps them believe that university is possible, even if they didn’t think it was an option before.”
“I hope SUSHs help more students from diverse backgrounds, especially those juggling work and study, access higher education and go on to make meaningful contributions in their chosen fields, just like I plan to do in engineering.”
Ellenbrook Study Hub is one of 15 SUSH set to open across 17 outer metropolitan locations in 2025.
The following locations are also open to students:
- Kurri Kurri Community Services Study Hub (NSW)
- Uni Hub Playford (SA)
- Southeast Tasmania Study Hub (Tas)
- Mandurah Universities Centre (WA)
- Strathpine University Study Hub (Qld)
- Northern Study Hub-Broadmeadows (Vic)
Additionally, ther will be 56 Regional University Study Hubs open by the end of the year, bringing the total number of study hubs across the country to 71.
