Australia's universities face a degrading strategic environment and evolving risks. In response, the UFIT Steering Group agreed on the need for a strategic refresh of UFIT to improve the sector’s resilience to espionage and foreign interference. Ciara Spencer, UFIT Chair and Deputy Secretary Law Enforcement and Domestic Security, Home Affairs, and Professor Deborah Terry AC, UFIT Deputy Chair and Vice Chancellor and President, University of Queensland, issued a statement on progress and the future direction of UFIT's strategic refresh.
