On 19 June 2020 the Australian Government announced the Job-ready Graduates Package (the package). Changes proposed in this package affect student contributions and provide additional support for students in regional and remote Australia. The majority of these changes will commence on 1 January 2021, subject to the passage of legislation.
We encourage both current and new students who will be studying from 1 January 2021 to talk to their current or intended higher education provider to confirm how these changes may affect their individual circumstances. Transparency in Higher Education Expenditure Report
The ‘Transparency in Higher Education Expenditure’ reports were conducted by Deloitte Access Economics to determine the cost of teaching and scholarship at Australian Universities.
Higher Education Report
The Higher Education Report is part of a suite of publications which report on the Australian higher education sector. The Report was previously based on the calendar year, with 2010 the last year covered. The new Report will cover a three-year period. The first of these will be for 2011-2013.
Finance Publication contain financial information including financial performance, financial position and cash flows for higher education providers derived from institutions financial statements.
Financial Statement Guidelines
These Guidelines prescribe the form of the financial statements approved by the Australian Government Minister for Education, or their delegates, under section 19-10(2) of the Higher Education Support Act 2003 (HESA) and section 58 of the Australian Research Council Act 2001 (ARCA) for listed providers (s16-10 of HESA). These Guidelines apply to each higher education provider in respect of its general purpose financial statements.

Regional Participation: The Role of Socioeconomic Status and Access -This report provides information on the factors affecting participation of regional students in Australian universities. In particular, it examines the relative importance of socioeconomic status and access to university in influencing higher education participation across regions.
