Applications are now open for eligible organisations to apply to establish up to 10 new Regional University Study Hubs in a regional or remote area of Australia.

On 18 July 2023, in response to the Australian Universities Accord Interim Report, the Australian Government announced funding to double the number of University Study Hubs, including additional Regional University Study Hubs.
The new Regional University Study Hubs are being established across two streams, Cohort 4 (complete) and Cohort 5.
Cohort 5
Cohort 5 is open for applications until 5:00pm (AEDT) 18 October 2024.
Who can apply?
Community-owned organisations and universities (as a trial) can apply for funding to establish and operate a Regional University Study Hub in regional or remote Australia. Further information regarding eligibility is provided in the Application Guide below.

Applicants must complete the following documentation:

Briefing Sessions
The department hosted virtual briefing sessions on 28 and 29 August 2024 for organisations interested in applying to establish, or partnering with, a Regional University Study Hub. Please see the Briefing Session 1 Presentation for key information provided in these sessions.
The department hosted an additional briefing session on Monday 9 September, which included presentations from three existing Regional University Study Hubs about their day-to-day operations. Please see the Briefing Session 2 Presentation for key information provided in this session.

Conditions of Grant Template
To assist applicants in understanding the requirements of delivering a Regional University Study Hub, a draft Conditions of Grant template is available to view. This document sets out the key conditions which a hub operator is required to comply with, as well as the key milestone dates and funding allocations. Please note that the Conditions of Grant template is only intended as a guide. It is missing some conditions and will be subject to change.
Cohort 4 Outcomes
On 25 March 2024, Minister Clare announced 12 Regional University Study Hubs funded in Cohort 4, including funding to support two existing Country Universities Centres in New South Wales.
