Regional University Study Hubs – 2023 Application Round

Applications are now open for community-owned organisations to apply to establish a Regional University Study Hub in a regional or remote area of Australia. Up to 10 new Hubs will be established in this round.

On 18 July 2023, in response to the Australian Universities Accord Interim Report, the Australian Government announced funding to double the number of University Study Hubs, including up to 20 additional Regional University Study Hubs.

The new Regional University Study Hubs will be established across two streams:

  • Stream 1 (Cohort 4) – up to 10 Regional University Study Hubs in 2024.
  • Stream 2 (Cohort 5) – up to 10 Regional University Study Hubs in 2025

Applications for Cohort 4 are now open for community-owned organisations to apply to establish a Regional University Study Hub in their local area.

Applications will close at 5:00pm (AEDT), 15 December 2023.

Who can apply?

Community-owned organisations can apply for funding to establish and operate a Regional University Study Hub in regional or remote Australia. Further information regarding eligibility is provided in the Application Guide below.

Briefing Sessions

The department hosted an initial briefing session on 10 October 2023 for stakeholders interested in applying to establish a new Regional University Study Hub. Please see the Briefing Session 1 Presentation for key information provided in this session.

The department also held an additional briefing session on 26 October 2023, which provided potential applicants with an opportunity to hear from three existing Regional University Study Hubs about their experiences in the program.
