VET Student Loans is a new student loans program, available from 1 January 2017, which replaces VET FEE-HELP loan scheme. The new loans program will give eligible students access to quality higher level VET qualifications, particularly those students who could not otherwise afford to pay upfront.

VET Student Loans is the new student loans program that replaces the current VET FEE-HELP scheme.

From 1 January 2017, students will be able to apply for a VET Student Loan for any course that is listed on the VET Student loans Eligible Course List through a training provider approved to offer VET student Loans in 2017.

Students should visit VET Student Loans and read the Course and Caps Determination for more information on eligible courses under this program. Please read the VET Student Loans information booklet for information relevant to students applying for a VET Student Loan.

The Department of Education and Training will update information on the website once providers have been approved to deliver VET Student Loans. At this time, students can check the department’s website at VET Student Loans and refer to the Course and Caps Determination which provides a list of all eligible VET Student Loans courses.
