Reports on financial assistance for schools

The Australian Government understands the importance of a good education to set children up for life. As part of its contribution to the national effort for Australian schooling, it funds various programs to support primary and secondary education.

The Australian Education Act 2013 and former Schools Assistance Act 2008 require the Minister to produce an annual report (known as the Green Report) outlining the payments under each Act to be presented to the Parliament each year.

The report provides a detailed breakdown of spending for a year from funds appropriated by each Act, as well as a brief description of how funding was allocated, in line with the agreed objectives and outcomes for schooling.
