The Council for International Education held its first meeting on Wednesday 23 November 2016 at Parliament House. Chaired by Senator the Hon Simon Birmingham, Minister for Education and Training, the Council consists of six Australian Government Ministers and Assistant Ministers and eleven expert members.
The Council brings a whole-of-government approach to strengthen and grow Australian international education and will provide advice on priorities for Australian Government action.
Council members discussed a wide range of international education issues and considered priorities for implementation of the National Strategy for International Education 2025 and the Australian International Education 2025 market development roadmap.
