On 31 January 2018 the Assistant Minister for Vocational Education and Skills, the Hon Karen Andrews MP, announced the 24 organisations selected to deliver the Australian Government’s new Industry Specialist Mentoring for Australian Apprentices (ISMAA) program.

The ISMAA program will provide intensive support to around 45,000 Australian Apprentices in the first two years of their training in a wide range of industries undergoing structural change.

The program will be delivered in all states and territories in sectors including:

  • building and construction
  • accommodation and food services
  • electrical
  • and health care

The support provided to Australian Apprentices will help address particular career and skills development concerns related to their specific industry and situation. Through the ISMAA program, Australian Apprentices will be provided regular one on one contact with highly skilled mentors who have skills sets that enable them to service the targeted cohort.
