News

The Disability Standards for Education 2005 (the Standards) clarify and elaborate the legal obligations of education authorities and providers across the whole of education, including preschool/kindergartens, school, vocational education and training, and higher education. The Standards seek to ensure that students with disability can access and participate in education on the same basis as other students.

Throughout 2020, the Department of Education, Skills and Employment will be reviewing the Disability Standards for Education 2005. The department is consulting with key peak disability bodies to help design and to inform the Review, and more information about how you can participate will be made available in the coming month.
