Skilled Migration Occupation Lists
On 18 April 2017, the Australian Government announced reforms to the employer-sponsored temporary and permanent skilled visas. The new Temporary Skill Shortage Visa programme will comprise two streams – Short Term and Medium Term. These streams will be underpinned by skilled occupation lists that are responsive to genuine skill needs and regional variations across Australia.
The Department of Employment is responsible for updating the composition of the new Short-term Skilled Occupation List (STSOL) and Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL) to identify occupations where employer sponsored and points-tested skilled migration could contribute to the demonstrated short and medium to long-term skilled workforce needs of the Australian economy.
For more information please visit the Department of Employment's website www.employment.gov.au/SkilledMigrationList. The current list of eligible occupations on the MLTSSL is available on the Department of Immigration and Border Protection's website.
For all MLTSSL related enquiries, please contact the Department of Employment email mailbox at SkilledMigrationList@employment.gov.au.
