Indigenous Apprenticeships Programme (IAP)

The Department of Education and Training participates in the Indigenous Apprenticeships Programme (IAP).

Indigenous Apprenticeship Programme

The IAP offers participants 12 months of ongoing, full-time work. Upon successful completion of the IAP, participants will receive a nationally recognised qualification and ongoing employment with the department at the APS3 level. Successful completion of the IAP requires participants to:

  • Meet the relevant conditions of engagement
  • Complete a probationary period
  • Participate in the IAP for twelve months
  • Demonstrate appropriate behaviour and performance
  • Complete their assessment requirements within the assigned timeframe
