On 8 May 2015, the Hon Scott Morrison MP, former Minister for Social Services announced the Inclusion Support Programme (ISP). The ISP is a key component of the Australian Government’s new Child Care Safety Net and will assist child care service providers to better cater for and include children with additional needs.

The Inclusion Support Programme commenced on 1 July 2016.

The objective of IPSP was to promote and maintain high quality, inclusive education and care, for all children, including those with ongoing high support needs, in eligible child care and early learning settings. This was achieved by increasing the knowledge and skills of educators, and the capacity of services, through providing professional development, advice and access to additional resources and inclusion support.

Also, refer to the Inclusion and Professional Support Program guidelines for further information.
