Family-School Partnerships

The Family-School Partnerships Framework supports parent engagement in education for improved student learning.

Families, schools and communities actively work together as partners to support learning, development and wellbeing of children and young people.

The Family-School Partnerships Framework was developed by the Australian Council of State School Organisations, Australian Parents Council and the Australian Government, and endorsed by Australia's Education Ministers in 2008. The Framework is for use by school leaders, teachers and school teams to support partnerships between schools and families.

Refreshed Framework and supporting materials

The Family-School and Community Partnerships Bureau refreshed the Framework and developed a set of supporting materials in 2017. These materials include engagement and partnership research, and policy and practice resources.

The Family-School and Community Partnerships Bureau was jointly governed by the Australian Council of State School Organisations and Australian Parents Council from 2008 – 2017, with support from the Australian Government.
