Funding from the Education Investment Fund (EIF) is supporting the creation of research infrastructure for industrial scale carbon capture and storage (CCS) and solar energy projects. Projects supported include:
- $51.6 million to the CO2CRC to build research infrastructure to support the CarbonNet CCS Flagship in Victoria and other CCS projects such as the Collie-South West Hub CCS Flagship project.
- $48.4 million to CSIRO to build the National Geosequestration Laboratory in support of the Collie-South West Hub CCS Flagship in Western Australia.
- $40.7 million to the University of Queensland to build research infrastructure in New South Wales and Queensland to support the AGL Energy Photovoltaic Solar Flagship.
