Review of the National Quality Framework (NQF)

A review of the NQF is being undertaken by the Australian and state and territory governments to ensure the goal of improving quality in education and care services is being met in the most efficient and effective way. The review will identify what is working well, areas for improvement and any unintended consequences resulting from implementation of the NQF.

A Consultation Regulation Impact Statement (RIS) on proposed options for changes to the NQF was released on 7 November 2014, and submissions closed on 16 January 2015.

Over 1700 people attended the 58 face to face consultation sessions that were held in all capital cities and a selection of regional areas within states and territories. The community also provided 108 public written submissions, 106 online comments and 670 survey responses to the Consultation RIS.

Feedback from the sector, families and the community is currently being considered by state, territory and commonwealth government ministers, and it is anticipated that the Review of the National Quality Framework will be finalised in the near future.

More information on the NQF Review, including the written submissions, is available on the Deloitte Access Economics website.
