The Minister for Education, the Hon Christopher Pyne MP is encouraging parents to talk to their children about bullying today, the National Day of Action against Bullying and Violence.

More than 900,000 students from over 2,000 schools across Australia will take part in the day which seeks to promote the anti-bullying message.

The Australian Government has encouraged parents to take the opportunity to talk to their children and let them know that bullying has no place in our schools.

Minister Pyne and Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Education, Senator the Hon Scott Ryan also today launched the third phase of the Safe Schools Hub, an online resource designed to provide the whole school community, including parents, with information about supporting a safe school culture.

More information to help parents talk to their children about bullying is available from studentsfirst.gov.au, bullyingnoway.gov.au and safeschoolshub.edu.au.
