    The New South Wales Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Early Childhood Sector Advisory Group Incorporated (ATSIECSAG Inc) sponsors the Aboriginal Early Childhood Services Support Unit (AECSSU). The AECSSU aims to promote the educational development of the children through provision of high quality early childhood programs. Programs must be culturally relevant to the children and enhance their self-esteem through the reinforcement of their cultural heritages. Services support involves working with staff as well as the management committees and the communities. Support activities range from consultancy on programs and policies, the provision of training to staff committees, resourcing and problem solving within the services.

    The AECSSU is funded by the Department of Education, Science & Training (DEST), to work with a number of early childhood services, specifically those funded by DEST around New South Wales. AECSSU also has one off projects to develop resources on culturally appropriate programs and training information; and provide inservices and workshops.

    The mission of the National Child Protection Clearinghouse is to support target groups by providing relevant information and a network of people committed to creating better opportunities for children through child abuse prevention. The clearinghouse operates from the library of the Australian Institute of Family Studies. A bibliographic database and a project database can be accessed from the site. The Clearinghouse publishes The Child Abuse Preventation Newsletter (online). A selection of publications, reports, bibliographies are also available online. The Clearinghouse is funded by the Commonwealth Department of Family and Community Services under the auspices of the National Child Protection Council as part of the National Strategy for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect.
