    The Children's Services Toolbox, Cybertots, immerses the learner in a virtual child care centre allowing them to experience the role of a caregiver. Through problem-based projects and communication activities they learn the skills and knowledge necessary for working in the child care profession. The units of competency are grouped into streams, and the learner works through the material on a stream-by-stream basis. The Toolbox prepares the learner for their workplace assessment where they can put the skills learnt into practice.

    Every year the Queensland Early Childhood Teachers Association (ECTA) organises a series of videoconferenced sessions, based on members' professional interests. ECTA is particularly keen to incude students enrolled in early childhood teacher education courses and Open Learning Institute of TAFE (OLI) Children's Services students. After their session, some presenters provide resources in powerpoint or document form to download from the site.

    Each month the United States organisation Pre-K Now hosts a national conference call to discuss the different issues facing state leaders in their efforts to secure pre-kindergarten legislation and develop sound, high-quality programs. For each call, Pre-K Now invites national experts to serve as facilitators and speakers on the selected topic, and encourages supporters to listen and participate. Recordings of past calls, along with supporting documents and resources, are available from the drop-down menu.
