    The purpose of the ACT Children's Plan is to clearly articulate the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) government's commitment to children and families. It will provide a common policy framework for the provision of services and guidelines for the practical implementation of services across government, non-government agencies and the community. The Plan will encompass antenatal, infancy, the early school years and middle childhood. It will address both universally provided services to families, and services targeted to address the needs of specific groups. The age range is 0-12.

    These guidelines have been developed jointly by the NSW Department of Health and the NSW Department of Community Services to provide current information to assist staff and parents in licensed children's services: in the management of children at risk of anaphylaxis; and in the day-to-day management of the service to reduce the likelihood of exposure to relevant allergens.

    This New South Wales education strategy for the early years from Kindergarten to Year 4 2006-2009 aims to give the state's youngest children a confident start to their schooling. The 3 goals are: learning confidently; growing strongly; strengthening connections. The Early Years Strategy will also encourage schools to pursue a number of initiatives focusing on Aboriginal children, and complements the Literacy and Numeracy Plans.
