Representing Catholic School parents in the Dioceses of NSW and the ACT, the Council is a private association within the Church. The members are the Diocesan Parent Organisations each of which represents the parents of children in Catholic schools within the respective Dioceses. Most Catholic schools have their own Parents and Friends Association or some other school level parent body. Diocesan level parent organisations offer a structure for partnership of these school level parent bodies across each Diocese.

Kindergarten Parents Victoria provides a comprehensive range of management support to early childhood services. Membership consists of Victorian preschool committees, group employers and various other organisations associated with early childhood education.

COGSO is the Council of Government School Organisations. COGSO was founded in 1971 as a Territory wide organisation to represent the interests of School Councils and parent bodies in Government schools. COGSO is a voluntary organisation comprised of delegates who represent affiliated School Councils. COGSO acts for and on behalf of School Councils and school communities, which includes parents, school staff members, students and community members. Executive members of COGSO must be a parent or guardian of a student in a Government School. COGSO endeavors to promote parent participation in education. COGSO sees it's growing role as building partnerships, and increasing collaboration, between students, staff, parents, principals and the Education Department.
