The Australian Association of Special Education is a group of educators and parents who, through education and lobbying, work towards meeting the special needs of children in Australian schools.
Australian Council of State School Organisations (ACSSO)

The Australian Council of State School Organisations (ACSSO) is the national parent organisation representing the interests of over two million children enrolled in government schools throughout Australia. It comprises eleven government school parent organisations in all States and Territories. ACSSO was formed in 1947 to develop national parent organisation policies in education and to represent these policies and the interests of its affiliates at the national level. The governing body of ACSSO is the Annual Conference to which each State and Territory sends four delegates. Each conference elects an Executive representing each of the affiliate member organisations to carry out the policies and coordinate the activities of ACSSO during the year.
Australian Health Promoting Schools Association - APHSA

The Australian Health Promoting Schools Association was established in 1994. It developed out of the Australian Association for Healthy School Communities (AAHSC) and the Network for Healthy School Communities. It aims to promote nationally the concept of health promoting schools, and to encourage collaboration among existing agencies, professional associations, government departments and student and parent groups.
Australian Institute of Family Studies (AIFS)

The Australian Institute of Family Studies (AIFS) was established to promote the identification and understanding of factors affecting marital and family stability in Australia. The site offers access to the Australian Family & Society Abstracts (AFSA) and a selection of reports and papers. The Institute organises courses and seminars. It also serves as a clearinghouse on Youth Suicide and Child Protection.

Families Australia is Australia's independent, peak, not-for-profit organisation dedicated to promoting the needs and interests of families. Objectives are to: inform and influence policies in relation to families; promote the importance and needs of families; and, act as an a two-way conduit for information to and from the family sector. Policy statements include: family wellbeing, child protection, Indigenous people, work and family, grandparenting, substance abuse, the 'Forgotten Australians'.

Healthy Start is an Australia-wide initiative to support parents with learning difficulties and promote a healthy start to life for their young children. This includes building an Australia-wide network to connect professionals and share expertise - the Healthy Start network; providing extra training, resources and support for practitioners; and creating access to tailored, evidence-based programs for parents and practitioners.
Isolated Children's Parents' Association (ICPA)

ICPA (Aust) is a voluntary national parent body dedicated to ensuring that all geographically isolated students have equality with their non-isolated peers, of access to an appropriate education. ICPA seeks to have all elements of a total education (cultural experiences, social contacts, participation in sport and other enriching activities) available for all isolated children regardless of the location of their home.
