The Australia-China Council (ACC) was established by the Australian Government in 1978 to foster people-to-people relations between Australia and China. In the area of education the Council supports the following key areas, Australian Studies in China, academic exchanges and programs for study in China, and school study programs.

The Australia-China (Chongqing) Vocational Education and Training Project (ACCVETP) is a five and a half year program that has been designed to provide advice to the Government of China on the development of the Vocational Education and Training (VET) system. ACCVETP is a bilateral project funded by the Government of the Peoples Republic of China (GOPRC) and the Australian Government through the Australian Agency for International Development(AusAID).
