The Indigenous Aerospace Initiative (IAI) 'Aiming High' was established by the Western Australian Department of Education and Training as an aspirational program to provide opportunities for Aboriginal students to undertake pilot training and enter the Australian aviation industry. The one year program offers scholarships to complete an integrated course in Aeronautical Studies and undertake flying training. The Indigenous Youth Mobility Programme (IYMP) will provide at least 600 young people from remote Australia with training and employment opportunities in major centres. The IYMP services are: training and employment services; safe and supported accommodation (delivered through Aboriginal Hostels Limited); and additional mentor support. The National Coaching Scholarship Program's primary objective is to provide opportunities for emerging elite coaches to develop skills and knowledge to coach effectively in high performance programs. The scholarship program is administered by the Australian Sports Commission's Coaching and Officiating Unit (C&O) in partnership with the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) and national sporting organisations. Placements are usually made within an AIS, state institute or academy of sport program alongside the head coaches of these programs. To complement the practical learning, scholarship coaches pursue a Graduate Diploma of Elite Sports Coaching course as part of their education package. Information is also provided about the Indigenous Sporting Excellence Scholarships.
