The School of Physical, Environmental and Mathematical Sciences encompasses the disciplines of Chemistry, Geography, Mathematics and Statistics, Oceanography, and Physics. The School offers undergraduate courses to cadets of the Australian Defence Force, with postgraduate study at Masters and PhD level which is open to civilians. PEMS carries out multi-disciplinary research which is underpinned by campus facilities, equipment and IT support.

The University of Canberra is set in natural bushland in Bruce, a suburb of the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) in Australia. UC is seven kilometres from the centre of the nation's capital, Canberra. Canberra is located on the Southern Tablelands, three hours south of Sydney and two hours from the eastern coast. UC is home to six Faculties which offer an exciting and diverse range of professional and vocationally oriented courses at both undergraduate and post graduate level.
