    The Alternative Education program (AEP) initiative has been established in Darwin's northern suburbs and Palmerston. The AEP focus is on young people aged 10-15 who have disengaged from mainstream schooling or are at strong imminent risk of disengagement. Individuals are case managed with a view to re-engaging them in education, training or employment.

    Established by the Federal Government to create a national forum where young Australians can speak directly with Government and to ensure that their views are taken into account in policy-making processes. The National Youth Roundtable brings together 50 young Australians aged 15 to 24, to meet with the Government to discuss issues that affect their generation. Roundtable members undertake a series of consultations with their peers across Australia to develop a comprehensive picture of the views and attitudes of young people, which are reported back to the Government.

    CadetNet is a website designed and developed exclusively for the 25,000 Cadets and 2,500 Cadet Staff that make up the Australian Defence Force Cadet Community. Through the web pages, email and Bulletin Board forums, the CadetNet website allows Cadets and Cadet Staff to exchange, manage and share information and knowledge and communicate within and throughout Australia. As a Cadet, young Australians are able to take part in adventurous, fulfilling and educational activities in a military setting. The ADFC consists of four organisations: Directorate of Defence Force Cadets (DDFC), Australian Navy Cadets (ANC), Australian Army Cadets (AAC), Australian Air Force Cadets (AAFC).
