The Trust is a national non-profit organisation. It administers mathematical enrichment activities for Australian and international students and publishes books on mathematical enrichment. Its Trustee is the University of Canberra and its Board comprises representation from the Australian Academy of Science, the Australian Mathematical Society, the Australian Association of Mathematics Teachers, and a number of academics and corporate people. Its activities include the Australian Mathematics Competition and the Australian Mathematical Olympiad Committee (AMOC), which runs many mathematics activities, culminating in selection of a team of students who represent Australia internationally, and the Australian Informatics Olympiad Committee (AIOC), which runs a number of activities in Informatics (Computer Science), culminating in selection of a team of students who represent Australia internationally.

The Consumer and Financial Literacy Professional Learning Program aims to build the capacity of teachers in primary and secondary schools to engage students in consumer and financial literacy. The Professional Learning Package includes a facilitator guide consisting of introductory notes and three separate modules - core, primary and secondary - with a CD-ROM of slides; and a teacher guide containing a collection of resources to assist teachers to build their understanding of the context for consumer and financial literacy.
